Re-book of the book Kšeft by Víťo Staviarsky is divided into three parts, all set in the shared environment of fairs and markets. This chaotic and visually rich atmosphere—brimming with diverse designs, imagery, and typography—is reflected in the book’s concept and design approach. The typography, photographs, and text layout push boundaries, exploring extremes of distortion and breaking conventional rules in book creation.
The custom font Jarmok was developed as part of a study on the most commonly used typefaces employed by market vendors to advertise their goods. By introducing serifs and combining them with contextual alternatives, the result is a dynamic font that generates a random sequence of characters as it is written, embodying the unpredictability of the market environment.
